How to Make Flower Bread?
First of all, you need a soft dough using sugar, dry yeast, milk powder, oil, salt, egg, and flour all together. It is more like making regular soft bread dough!
For that flower shape, make four equal dough balls and make big bread out of each. Place each bread one after another with butter. Use special cutting and folding techniques to get the stripe shape out of the big bread.
Lastly, twist the stripes and join the ends to create the flower shape. Then, you can just bake it and eat your soft and beautiful flower bread.
Flower Bread Recipe
Ingredient
- 1 cup of warm milk
- ⅓ cup of sugar
- 1 tbsp dry yeast
- ⅛ cup of milk powder
- 2 tbsp oil
- ½ teaspoon of salt
- 1 beaten egg
- 2 cup flour (keep more if needed)
- Extra 2 tbsp oil for dough
- Soften butter 50 grams.
- Choco chip for topping
Direction
- Start with making a mixture for the dough. Take a bowl and mix ingredients one after another. Pour 1 cup of warm milk and ⅓ cup of sugar. 1 tbsp dry yeast, ⅛ cup of milk powder, and 2 tbsp oil. Use a spoon and stir the mixture.

- Now, rest the mixture for 10 minutes to get active yeast. Cover the mixture with a plate here.

- Now, remove the plate from the bowl. Now, stir the mixture again. Now, mix ½ teaspoon of salt here. In this part, you will also need half of a beaten egg. Keep the rest aside as you will need it by the end of the recipe.

- Pour 2 cups of flour and mix well. Take your time to form the dough. If you’re used to making soft dough, this will feel simple. Use your hands for a good mix. If needed, add a little extra flour for the perfect texture, but don’t overdo it.

- Once the dough is ready, spread a small amount of oil to make it smoother. The amount of oil depends upon the dough portion.

- Now, cover the dough with a plate and keep it for 2 hours in a hot space.

- After 2 hours, remove the plate, and the dough is ready. Smash the dough using your hand and it will remove the air from it.

- Now, divide the dough into 4 equal portions.

- Make 4 equal balls with the dough. An equal size is really important as it is necessary to make flower shapes. Cover the balls with the bowl and rest them for 10 minutes. This way it will not get air and get a soft dough texture.

- Now, remove the bowl and make big bread out of each bowl. You should use a bread roller here to have that big size. The thickness of the bread will be more than regular bread. So, keep it like that.

- Take a plate and place each bread one over the other. But, slow down and remember the instructions carefully. You can use baking paper over the plate so that the bread does not stick on it. Keep the first bread and spread the butter.

- Take 50 grams of softened butter and take a generous amount of portion to rub it all over the bread.

- Then, place the second bread and repeat the butter rubbing process. You should do the same with the third and fourth bread. Lastly, press down gently with your hand to help the layers stick together.

- Get the bread out of the plate and take the roller on the head again. Now, roll it all together and make a big and thick bread.

- Take the rest of the butter and rub it all over your freshly rolled bread.

- It is folding time! You should basically give it four folds to give it a pocket shape. By this time, it will get a rectangular shape.

- Again, roll it with a bread roller and make big-size bread. Trust me, it is necessary to get the perfect shape and soft texture.

- This time, your bread will have a rectangular shape. Now, take a rolling cutter and cut the bread into 4 equal portions. While cutting you will see the layers. All the foldings and rollings you did till now should make sense now.

- Now, take the bread roller again and roll each portion. Well, this time you just need to stretch the bread portion. Take your rolling cutter and cut the stretched shape giving it a stripe shape.

- You should use the bread roller to stretch it again. You need to increase the size as you will be going to twist it.

- Now, hold each stripe with your two hands from the end. Fold the dough several times and it will have a twisted shape.

- Join the endings circularly. By this time, it will have that beautiful flower shape. Do the same with each stripe.

- Take a baking plate and spread a sheet. Now, place the flower bread soughs nicely. Brush the rest of the beaten eggs over each piece of bread that we had kept earlier.

- Now, keep the bread at rest by covering it for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes the size will double up.

- Now, put chocolate chips as toppings on your flower bread.

- Bake your bread at 200-degree temperature for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, the bread will turn brown and have a soft texture.

What To Serve With Flower Bread?

You can also enjoy it with fresh fruits, scrambled eggs, or deli meats for a balanced meal. For just refreshment, serve it with tea/coffee. It will be a quick evening snack!
Che’s Tips
- Use lukewarm milk and softened butter to help the dough rise smoothly. Avoid using hot liquids, as they can kill the yeast.
- Let the dough rise in a warm, draft-free spot. Cover it with a damp cloth or plastic wrap to prevent it from drying out.
- When cutting and twisting the dough to create stripes, work gently to avoid tearing. A clean, sharp knife helps make even cuts.
- Brushing the bread with an egg wash before baking gives it a golden, glossy finish. For a richer shine, do not overdo this or skip it.
